Emily Chambers Awarded STEM Scholarship At Loyola University Maryland

Emily Chambers, class of 2017, an engineering major with a concentration in materials engineering, from Owings Mills, has been awarded a STEM scholarship for summer study in Germany for projects in engineering.

Chambers was awarded her scholarship through the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) at RWTH Aachen University for her project, "Functionalization of Thermoplastic Polymers for Sensor Applications." Chambers will be preparing thermoplastic polymers to induce electrical properties such as electrical conductivity, piezoelectricity, or pyroelectricity.
