Sarah Trent Awarded STEM Scholarship At Loyola University Maryland

Sarah Trent, class of 2018, a biology major and Spanish minor, from Medford, has been awarded a STEM scholarship for summer study in Germany for projects in biology.

Trent was awarded her scholarship from The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)/Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE) to study her project, "Development of a Sensor and Expert Model Based Training Device for Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgical Tasks," at the Heidelberg University Hospital. Trent will be using optical tracking devices and sensors to record task and procedural performance data from expert surgeons in the field of laparoscopy.
